Polyvore & Me

I’ve resisted Polyvore for a couple of years now. I’ve visited several times and seen sets that other bloggers have created, but it wasn’t until I started working with my graphic designer in February that I realized the benefits of it. But even then, I still resisted. Who needs more social media to play with? Who has the time? Some of us need to sleep! A lot!!

I’ve been using Pinterest for over a year now and love that. Pinning outfits in groups has worked for me but I have to admit sometimes it’s hard to visualize an outfit together. I followed a Pinterest link Friday and found myself on Polyvore. After a bit, I bit the bullet today and signed up. I lured Corrine in too.

Corrine and I sat in the kitchen making supper last night, drooling over outfits together. We took it outside in the sun this afternoon and enjoyed the warmth, laughing, while the kids tumbled in the yard. The guys are rolling their eyes and making comments about how they thought “Pinterest was bad.” We laugh.

If you’d just like to follow my Polyvore board on Pinterest, I’d love that! Anybody else been sucked into the vortex that is either Pinterest or Polyvore?

My Studio: Part 1

For seven years now I’ve been sewing in our oversized master bedroom. It’s far too big for a practical chick like me keep as a mere bedroom. The size made it just right for using the extra space as a small sewing area. It’s worked, mostly, until recently. In the last five years, as I’ve

Prom Gown 2012 Progress

Kaylee and I have been meeting every week to work on her dress. It’s been slow progress as far as pictures go because we’ve been doing a lot of patterning and making mock ups to find the pattern errors.  Lather, rinse & repeat. But it’s all finally coming together. This week things got real. We
